Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve celebration with Grandpa and Grandma, Katie and Colton. It was a really special time, esp. since I convinced everyone else to bring food (playing the pregnancy card), and my Dad's asian ribs were amazing as usual.

It was a really sweet and magical time; holidays are always more colorful when you have the chance to view them through the eyes of little kids.

Special Christmas Treat

I am trying to start new traditions, and this year, I took my boys out (in future years, I hope to take them out individually) on a pre-Christmas date. We had ice cream, and I gave them their annual Christmas ornaments (a Lightening McQueen and a Buzz Lightyear).

The goal is to just slow down during the busy Christmas season and just enjoy some one-on-one (in this case one-on-two) time, and really tell them how much I love and enjoy them. And ice cream communicates that quite effectively.

Gingerbread Houses

I'm teaching preschool with a friend of mine at home on Friday mornings. We have eight students (including my boys and nephew), and it has really been a lot of fun to do. For our Christmas party, we made gingerbread houses...

Unlimited candy + unlimited frosting = unlimited fun, and some weird looking houses.

And what self-respecting nearly two-year old sister would let all that candy go uneaten. I knew things were too quiet for a reason. Gotcha!
