Really, I'd be remiss if I didn't blather on and on once in a while about my beautiful baby.
He is already 7 months old, and I swear this is going by way too quickly.
I've been making his baby food because it is really so much cheaper...and his Dad usually lovingly heats it up for him over warm water (don't want to use the microwave yet). And he is already eating three squares a day. It took us a while to get him used to food, he is really pretty good with it now.
He is not yet crawling. And believe you me, this is a VERY good thing. I love not having to worry about what he is getting into and where he is heading. A simple fact about having 4 kids, you cheer the first one on and trip the last one up. I've been known to deliberately put him in the exersaucer so he won't built up the muscles required to crawl.
I remember someone telling me when I was pregnant with my first that the best time in the first year was when they can sit, but not yet crawl, because you can surround them with toys and they can just entertain themselves.
Kristina cruelly went from sitting to crawling in like two days so that "utopia" was never realized. She would barely sit, and then fall over into a rapid chase of some toy on the floor.
Hudson though, seems happy to just enjoy the world around him. But as of late, he has actually become mobile, albeit without crawling. He rolls over and over, then stops, pivots his body, then starts off in another direction. Fortunately he does not have a pincer grasp, so I'm not having to worry about what is going in his mouth yet. Wow...I still get goose bumps fearing what that will bring. (Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum)
This week he learned to sleep in his actual crib (he's been sleeping in an inclined foam baby sleeper). And he's finally over his recent bout with constipation...there is a silver lining in the stomach bug that's been going through the house.
He really is the easiest baby I can imagine. He is all smiles and giggles and adores every single member of his family. (And they all adore him). He is a joy and a blessing, and I can't imagine life without him. The sad thing is just that he is growing up way too quickly. Before I know it, I'll be driving him to Kindergarten.
